A.) PATIENT CARE SERVICES

Care of Pregnant women:

  • Antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care for normal pregnancy
  • Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric services
  • Emergency management of ectopic pregnancy and all critically ill pregnant women
  • Optimum care for high risk pregnant women with medical and Surgical disorders
  • Screening for Diabetes mellitus and hypothyroidism which is common in this region
  • Fetal prenatal diagnosis by USG, Doppler and MRI
  • New born care services
  • Care of women with abortion and intrauterine fetal demise

Gynecological services:

  • Detection and treatment of Reproductive tract infections
  • Screening for genital tract malignancies especially cancer cervix
  • Management of pelvic organ dysfunction
  • Multidisciplinary management of Gynecological malignancies
  • Management of all benign diseases like fibroid uterus adnexal mass etc.
  • Management of gynecological emergencies
  • Infertility management services, Level 1,2,3
  • Open and laparoscopic operative services

Family Planning Services:

  • OC Pills; Condom; CU-T; Tubectomy

Preventive services:

  1. Prevention of unwanted Pregnancies.
  2. Prevention of congenital malformations
  3. Prevention of anemia
  4. Prevention of hypertension during pregnancy
  5. Prevention of Eclampsia
  6. Prevention of preterm labour
  7. Prevention of HIV transmission especially Mother to child

B.)  Teaching, Training and Research:

  • Training and skill acquisition of Family Planning Techniques

  • Registration of pregnancy-old and new cases

  • PPTCT services—PPTCT Counsellor & Lab technician
  • Nutritional counselling--Dietician
  • Ultrasonography services including Doppler & 3D USG
  • Prenatal diagnostic techniques as per PNDT Act

  • MTP services as per MTP Act India

Gynaecological Services

  • Registration of old and new cases
  • Clinical examination
  • Cervical cancer screening by Pap test on all days
  • Lab investigations routine & for tumour markers
  • Screening and treatment for RTI

PPTCT Lab technician - HIV test for all pregnant women during each pregnancy



Referrals from and to OPD — Ambulatory patients – self transport

                --Non ambulatory—Trolley /wheel chair with attendant/relative

Senior resident/Consultant ---opines and manages all referral from other departments

Imaging Services for Out-Patients

Emergency Obstetric Care Services (EmOC): 24 hours

Basic EmOC & Comprehensive EmOC services as per Govt. of India ,WHO etc.,

  1. Administration of Parenteral antibiotics
  2. Administration of Uterotonic drugs
  3. Administration of parenteral anticonvulsants for pre-eclampsia and Eclampsia: Magnesium sulphate
  4. Performing manual removal of Placenta
  5. Performing Instrumental evacuation for retained products
  6. Performing Instrumental deliveries. Forceps & vacuum delivery
  7. Performing Neonatal Resuscitation
  8. Administering Blood transfusion
  9. Performing Caesarean section /laparotomy

All facilities for resuscitation and life support in case of cardiac arrest, Collapse exist

ICU and Eclampsia Room & Emergency Operation theatre;24hr anesthesia facilities

 Protocols are in place as hard copy and soft copy
